INGL starts the flow of natural gas to Haifa Bay
Israel Natural Gas Lines (INGL),which established and operates the natural gas pipeline system nationwide, today announced that the flow of natural gas to Haifa Bay and the northern region will start next Monday. After receiving approval from the Natural Gas Authority, this newly activated northern section will provide natural gas to power stations in Haifa and Alon Tavor, industrial plants in Haifa Bay, and to future natural gas distribution networks.. This new 67 km line wil join the existing national transmission system that already spans 420 km.
National Infrastructure Minister Dr. Uzi Landau, said: "I praise the professional work and co-operative efforts between Israel Natural Gas Lines and The Natural Gas Authority, the direction and support of the Ministry of National Infrastructure. Foremost is the commitment to uphold the most stringent safety standards and to supply the gas that the Israel energy market so urgently needs. With the start of flow, expected in the next few days, we are poised to enter a new era of cleaner, better quality air and improved quality of life for residents of Haifa Bay and the northern region. "
